Bexxie

Hi I'm Bexxie, owner of Dysfunktional Audio. Anything on this site written in first person, thats me. I'm not really a writer though so don't get me confused as one :P So where shall I start this whole bio thing? How about when I was five. My mom signed me up for piano lessons. I loved it until I realized I had to practice. There went my fake dreams of being a classically trained pianist at Carnegie Hall. Oh well...

But seriously, my story is pretty typical of most producers/dj's these days. I got into electronic music at 14, got turntables at 15, started playing out at 17. Played in various gigs around the States. I naturally progressed into producing. Put out my first record called "Screamin'" on one of the few North American Hardcore labels called Pitched Up and lent my vocals to AC Slater & Dok's "Xpress Urself". However, I wanted to do everything myself as with most of the artistic aspects of my life instead of relying on an engineer to get my ideas across. So I decided to do an Audio Engineering program at the School of Audio Engineering in New York City and graduated in October 2003. It was an amazing experience!

After that I gained some drum and bass residencies in Philadelphia and started working on my production skills. I eventually moved to London where I currently reside (although I'm moving back to the States at the end of the year) and have various tracks/remixes/featured vocals put out on Kniteforce Records. I started Dysfunktional Audio two years ago as an output for drum and bass productions. I know, I know, we're only onto the second release so far but procrastination is not one of my good qualities but I'm working on it ;)
